This is an excellent primer in the field of optics, starting with
the phenomenon of formation of shadows and images.
This is followed by experiments on
reflection and refraction, covering plane mirrors, lateral
inversion, spherical mirrors, concave & convex mirrors and the
prism.
An introduction to lenses is
followed by experiments on defects of vision, an explanation of
myopia and hypermetropia and lenses in eyeglasses. The final
experiments cover the astronomical telescope, a two-stage compound
microscope, total internal reflection and dispersion.
